The different view about man presented in the different periods of the history of political philosophy has led to adopting different approaches to security. Holding a holistic view of man, classical political philosophy discusses security by considering the various aspects of political philosophy. As for the detailed view of modern philosophy it reduces security to self-preservation. The comprehensive view about man in Islamic political philosophy, however introduces a wider concept of security which includes the various aspects of man's life in this world and the hereafter. Accordingly, security is viewed as an ultimate value by some schools of political philosophy and as an instrumental value by some other schools. All schools of thought, however, look at security as having a critical value «انسان شناسی» از مسایل حکمت نظری و «امنیت» از مسایل حکمت عملی است. نگاه متفاوت به انسان در دوره های مختلف تاریخ فلسفه‌ی سیاسی، رویکرد متفاوتی از امنیت را به نمایش می گذارد. فلسفه‌ی سیاسی کلاسیک، با نگاه کل نگر به انسان، امنیت را نیز در ابعاد مختلفی در فلسفه‌ی سیاسی به بحث گذارده است. درحالیکه نگاه جز نگر فلسفه‌ی مدرن به انسان، امنیت را به صیانت نفس تقلیل داده است، درحالی که نگاه  جامع نگر به انسان در فلسفه سیاسی اسلامی، منجر به بسط مفهوم امنیت در ابعاد مختلف و حیات دنیوی و اخروی انسان گردیده است. در این نگاه متفاوت، امنیت در برخی مکاتب فلسفه‌ی سیاسی، ارزش غایی و در برخی دارای ارزش ابزاری می باشد؛ هرچند در همه مکاتب می توان امنیت را به عنوان ارزش حیاتی به شمار آورد. https://siyasi.nashriyat.ir/sites/siyasi.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5_8.pdf
