Having an analytic approach, the present article aims to explain the duties of a religious state. Since justice is always sanctified as an individual and social value, a political philosopher cannot be indifferent towards it. The main concern of the article is to examine the relation between political power and justice. There are two approaches that address this concern; one is a traditional approach based on Quranic verses and Islamic traditions another is a comprehensive one based on a philosophic explanation. Proceeding on the basis of the second approach, the present article tries to explain a) the relation between justice and other social virtues b) the obligations justice puts on the shoulder of an Islamic state c) the domain of social justice and the social areas it covers.
