Abstract:
Given the serious weaknesses of contemporary political science discourse in analyzing politics from a monotheistic and divine perspective, strengthening the position of Islamic political knowledge has become more necessary than ever. Therefore, this article, by providing an analysis of the current state of this knowledge, identifies its existing challenges and pathologies. Then, while analyzing the desirable state of this knowledge, it proposes solutions for moving from the current state to the desirable state. The findings of the research, obtained through a descriptive-analytical method, indicate that in order to achieve the desirable state of Islamic political knowledge, a systemic mode of thinking based on fundamental principles must govern this knowledge in order to address local problems and challenges. In this regard, the following appear necessary: enhancing cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies; expanding the scope of scientific interactions for the development of this knowledge; utilizing the works of earlier scholars while updating the governing literature; fundamentally reforming the educational system; benefiting from the positive aspects of aligned or rival theories; providing the ground for utilizing the achievements of Islamic political knowledge in political practice; directing this knowledge toward solving local challenges; expanding quantitative research and studies; and making optimal use of new technologies.
